We’re Going on An Adventure!

So if you know me, you know that I am obsessed with all things nerdy – Star Wars, comic books, video games, and, of course, Lord of the Rings.  I’ve read the books many times over and watched and re-watched and re-re-watched the movies, so it’s no surprise that the number one country on my bucket list was Middle-Earth itself – New Zealand!

As we both love the outdoors and doing ALL the activities, New Zealand was the perfect fit for our first international trip together – our honeymoon.  So in the midst of wedding planning, I got to work.  2 weeks to see the 2 islands of New Zealand should be plenty of time, right?  (Wrong…more on that later.)

Here’s our crazy (and a little aggressive) itinerary:

Day 1 & 2 – The Never-Ending Flight

Day 3 – Auckland, North Island – We made it!

Day 4 – Auckland, North Island – There and an Uber back again

Day 5 & 6 – The Bay of Islands – All Aboard the Rock!

Day 7 – Waitomoa, North Island – Take the Plunge

Day 8 – Rotorua, North Island – ‘It stings the nostrils!’

Day 9 – Hobbiton, North Island – ‘In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit…’

Day 10 – Queenstown & Glenorchy, South Island – Riders of Rohan

Day 11 – Queenstown, South Island – Be BrAve and Jump!

Day 12 – Milford Sound, South Island – ‘Rain makes the Sound sing’

Day 13 – Te Anau to Queenstown – ‘The mountains are calling and I must go’
